SME’s can go digital, under Start Digital Initiative

Now SME’s can go digital in areas like accounting and human resources management, with the costs partially being paid by the government.

Under this initiative SME’s can choose to go digital in any of the two of the following areas: accounting, human resource management system and payroll, digital marketing, digital transaction and cyber security.

This initiative is joint collaboration of the Info-Communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Enterprise Singapore (ESG).

Business who have at least 30% local shareholding  and revenue of not more than S$100 million or fewer than 200 employees at a group level, are eligible for this scheme

To avail this scheme, SME’s can approach any of the following partners: DBS, Maybank, OCBC, SingTel, StarHub and UOB to apply. According to IMDA, after six month of waived fees, the SME’s will need to pay according to the rates given by the partner companies

Mr Iswaran, the Minister for Communication and information, launched two initiatives during the event – Data Protection (DP) Trustmark Certification and Nationwide E-invoicing Network.
